Get ready for a magical evening at July’s Last Friday: The Wonderful World of Wizards in Historic Downtown Plant City with our enchanting Fabulous Familiars Pet Contest. If your pet has a flair for the dramatic and a costume to match, this is their time to shine.
Date of Contest: Friday, July 25th, 2025
Location: McCall Park Gazebo 100 North Collins St., Plant City, Florida
Entry Fee: $5 per pet - Pre-Registration Required
Contest begins during Last Friday Downtown at 7:00 PM at the McCall Park Gazebo
Seven spellbinding categories will be judged:
Best Magical Creature
For pets dressed as creatures from the wizarding world—Hippogriffs, Thestrals, Basilisks, and beyond.
Best Wizarding Student
Hogwarts is calling. Show off your pet in their house robes—Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff.
Best Professor or Staff
From Dumbledore’s flowing robes to Hagrid’s rugged style, channel the iconic mentors of magic.
Best Villain
For those with a darker twist—Voldemort, Bellatrix, or a miniature Death Eater with serious attitude.
Most Creative Spell or Object
A costume inspired by magical items like the Golden Snitch, Nimbus 2000, Sorting Hat, or Marauder’s Map.
Cutest in the Wizarding World
Adorable, charming, and maybe even a little chaotic—this one’s for the pets who melt hearts.
Best Group Costume (Pet & Owner or Multi-Pet)
Dynamic duos and magical multiples welcome. Think Harry and Hagrid or three pups as Fluffy, the three-headed dog.
Prizes will be awarded to the winner of each category. Whether your familiar is fierce, funny, or fantastically adorable, we can’t wait to see them cast their charm over the crowd.
